Second Flush

At the foot of the Himalayas in India, Darjeeling is famous for its tea plantations high in the mountains. The cool climate gives the teas here a very unique character and depth.
In Darjeeling, there are four harvest periods throughout the year.

The Second Flush, the second harvest, takes place from mid-May to mid-June. It is also when something very special happens in the tea plants.
Small, green leafhoppers visit the tea leaves and start a natural process in the plant. In response, the leaves develop aromatic compounds that give the tea the characteristic muscatel flavor – a rich, sweet and fruity taste that is so sought after in Darjeeling.

We have collected a selection of our favorite Second Flush teas for you – both pure teas and some exciting varieties with added flavors.
