Amba, Sri Lanka

In 2024, we visited a small café in Sri Lanka, where we got to taste some of the country’s most renowned teas. One stood out – Amba Estate. A tea with a depth, character and warmth all its own, making it impossible to forget.

In the hills outside Ella, Amba is grown with uncompromising respect for both the tea, the people and the nature. Each leaf is hand-picked, one bud and one leaf from the fresh top shoots, before the leaves are carefully dried and hand-rolled. The result is a full-bodied and elegant black tea with notes of malt, spices and a subtle hint of chocolate – silky smooth and full of character.

Amba has gained international recognition.
